Instructions

Step 1
Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place a wire rack on top of the paper to allow excess grease to drip off while the bacon cooks.

Prepare the Bacon Strips: In a small bowl, mix together the maple syrup and smoked paprika until well combined. Take one strip of bacon, dip it in the mixture, gently twist it from one end to the other and place it on the rack. Continue this process with each strip, creating a twisted pattern. As you twist, the bacon will naturally stretch and lengthen, so you'll end up with longer, twisted strips.
Step 3
Brush with Maple Syrup Mixture: Using a pastry brush or a spoon, generously brush each twisted bacon strip with the rest of the maple syrup and smoked paprika mixture.
Step 4
Bake: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for about 20-25 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and golden brown. Keep an eye on it to prevent overcooking.
Step 5
Cool and Serve: Once the bacon is done, remove it from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. The bacon will continue to crisp up as it cools.
Step 6
And Voilà!: Serve the twisted bacon on a plate, and you can optionally drizzle a bit more maple syrup on top for extra sweetness.
