12 minutes spaghetti with tuna for the kids

4 steps
Prep:15min
The premises are 2 kids at home from school, and a day full of work and things to do. I had very little time to whip something up that would have been filling, and crowd pleasing :) I am afraid no pepper in this case and basil and olives whole as it easier to remove them. I too was a picky eater. You can always add spices on top of your plate as I do.

Instructions

Step 1
Preparation is everything, get your ingredients ready and I assure you you can make this in 12 minutes too. Drop the spaghetti in salted boiling water and heat a large pan for the sauce.
Step 2
Cook the chopped shallots for 2 minutes with olive oil in the large hot pan. A pinch of salt will help the shallots go soft quicker. Now add then tomato and bring to a quick simmer.
Step 3
Add the drained tinned tuna to the sauce and cook for at least 6/7 minutes on sustained heat. Add the olives and the basil leaves. Mix every now and then and season to taste.
Step 4
Drain the pasta and toss it into the sauce (not the other way around), add a drizzle of oil and a ladle of pasta water and mix well to coat the spaghetti with the sauce. Serve immediately (without olives and basil leaves for the kids, keep them for you)!
