Instructions

Step 1
Prepare your ribs by removing the membrane from the back of the ribs, if not already done.
Step 2
In a small bowl, mix together brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper to create your rub.
Step 3
Apply the rub generously on both sides of the ribs.
Step 4
Preheat your smoker or grill to 225°F (107°C). If using a grill, set it up for indirect cooking.
Step 5
Place ribs on the smoker or grill away from the direct heat. Cover and cook for about 4-5 hours, or until the ribs are tender and the meat pulls away from the bones.
Step 6
During the last 30 minutes of cooking, brush the ribs with BBQ sauce every 10 minutes to create a sticky glaze.
Step 7
Remove the ribs from the smoker or grill and let them rest for about 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
