Instructions
Step 1
Run through the ingredient list and check if they are available. Add missing items to the shopping list.
Step 2
Buy prawns and any other missing ingredients in the shopping list. Get the prawns shelled at the supermarket.
Step 3
Make sure to put the prawns into the fridge as soon as possible. Put the prawns shells into a container and place it in the freezer.

Wash and soak the prawns, add water to 2 bowls

Devein the prawns

Wash the prawns

Cut them into samller pieces (for big prawns)

Add salt to the prawns and keep in the fridge or aside

Peel ginger

Pluck the garlic cloves

Slice ginger

Crush garlic

Peel and wash carrot

Move the prawns shells container down to the refrigerator section to let it thaw.

Add all the items for making the stock to the handi

Bring the stock to a boil

Once it starts boiling, reduce the heat

Collect all whole spices and keep in a container

Crush and cut the Maggie cubes and empty into a container

Add turmeric to the same container. Mix well and keep.

As the stock simmers, skim the scum off without disturbing the stock

Strain the stock

Store the stock in the fridge after it cools

Wash the rice and keep soaked

Boil the stock, then keep aside

Heat oil, add whole spices and give a quick stir

Add chopped onion and saute till onions are light brown

Add tomatoes and fry till they're mashy

Wash & drain the rice twice

Add turmeric powder, Maggie cubes and the prawns and mix well and fry for 2 mins

Add the rice and fry for 1 min

Add the hot prawns stock, coriander leaves and salt and mix well

Cover and cook

Once the rice almost absorbs the stock, take a rubber spatula and mix the rice gently. Make sure not to break the rice grains.

Once cooked, keep it covered. Else, it will dry out.
