Instructions
Step 1
Potatoes: Peel and wash 2 potatoes. Cut into smaller pieces. Boil for 15 minutes.

Sauce: Mix 1 tablespoon each of soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, gochujang, gochugaru, and corn syrup. Add a bit of pepper and 1 teaspoon minced garlic. Set aside.
Step 3
Tteokbokki: Cut 2 green onions and 2 sheets of fish cake into pieces.
Step 4
After 15 minutes, drain boiled potatoes, add 1/2 teaspoon salt, and mash while hot. Add 1 cup potato starch and 1/2 cup warm water to the potatoes. Mix to form dough. Shape dough into small tteokbokki pieces with your palms.
Step 5
Boil shaped tteok until they float, then transfer to cold water and drain.
Step 6
Cooking: In a pan, mix 1 cup of water with the tteokbokki sauce. Add fish cake and tteok. Cook over medium-high heat until sauce thickens. Add green onions. Adjust seasoning with soy sauce or sugar if needed.
