Instructions

Step 1
Set some wood skewers or kitchen twine near your workspace for easy access

To check the size of the pot needed put the cabbage in a large pot and fill it with water so that the cabbage will be submerged. Remove the cabbage and add 3 teaspoons of the salt to the water and bring to a boil over high heat fill a large bowl with cold water and set aside.

Prepare the cabbage by removing any damage out of leaves, cut out the bottom cord so that will loosen once they’re boiled lower the cabbage carefully under the boiling water with the bottom facing upwards cook for 5 to 10 minutes gently removing to the tongues as they loosen from the core and placing them in the cold water stop cooking continue removing leaves until you have eight large leaves if they break or if the leaves are too small remove extra leaves so that you layer to get together to create a large remove the rest of the couch from boiling water reserve it for another meal, such as cabbage soup
Step 4
Once the leaves are cold, remove them from the water if any have thick things trim them so that they will be easier to roll. Lay leaves on a work surface and prepare filling.

Melt 1 tablespoon of the butter in a small skillet over medium heat. Add the onions and sauté stirring occasionally 5 to 7 minutes or until tender, but not brown onions aside to cool.
Step 6

Tip, when is your way to prep the cabbage freeze the whole cabbage for a couple days and thaw it in the fridge which will take at least a day now remove the leaves and use them not fast but easy
