Step 1
Preheat oven to 350. Rearranger oven shelves now while thier cold to accommodate large enough area for roasting pan with plenty of height for the size turkey you have. Did you know Samsung makes some pretty nice ovens? 😉 I have the double oven smart range with 5 burners. The turkey probe and notifications it sends my phone & TV are kinda handy. Not paid, just a fan 🤘. Want proof? Their dishwashers suck.
Step 2
Insert aluminum, disposable roasting pan within sturdy, metal roasting pan. This allows for easy cleanup while using the stiffness of the metal roasting pan for strength.
Step 3
Place entire wrapped turkey in empty kitchen sink. Remove netting and plastic wrap from turkey. Retain tag for reference to weight.

Step 4
Remove gizzards from neck cavity. Remove neck from body cavity. Discard or prepare separately.
Step 5
Briefly run a slow stream of room temperature water over outer and inner surfaces of turkey. Pat dry.

Carefully move turkey from sink to roasting pan using either turkey grabbers or sturdy kitchen utensil inserted into body cavity.

Pat turkey dry with paper towels. Discard peper towels immediately to avoid contamination.

Slowly (to prevent splashing and subsequent contamination) pour chicken broth over outer surfaces and within turkey. The majority of broth will collect in the bottom of the roasting pan. This is expected.
Step 9
Apply turkey rub over the majority of top surfaces of the turkey. Tucking the rub under the skin helps keep it in place throughout the roasting process.
Step 10
Place one entire stick of butter atop the rub on top of the turkey. The butter will slowly melt into the skin and meat of the turkey to keep it moist. Tent top of turkey with aluminum foil to prevent premature browning and evaporation.

Thuroughly wash hands, sink and working area with soap and warm water. We are done working with raw turkey.
Roasting
Step 12
Roughly 45 mins before estimated completion time remove aluminum foil from top to now encourage browning.
Step 13
Open oven fully. With both hands, slowly & firmly lift and move turkey and roasting pan into oven, being careful not to spill the broth in the bottom of the pan. Close oven and set timer.
