Instructions
Step 1
Cook pasta as per packaging instructions. While waiting for pasta to cook, season chicken with garlic powder, salt and pepper.
Step 2
Then, heat oil in a pan over medium-high and add in the chicken. Cook the chicken, stirring occasionally, until browned and cooked through. Remove to a plate, and set aside.
Step 3
Once pasta is cooked, drain and reserve some pasta water, then set aside.
Step 4
In the same pan used earlier to cook the chicken, add butter. When the butter has melted, add garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes.
Step 5
Stir in the flour, and cook for another 1-2 minutes.
Step 6
Add chicken broth and stir up any bits in the pan. Allow to simmer for 1 minute.
Step 7
Add in milk and cream, reduce the heat and simmer until the sauce is smooth and has thickened.
Step 8
Stir in parmesan and season with salt and pepper. At this point, thin the sauce with pasta water, if desired.
Step 9
Add cooked chicken and pasta back into the pan. Mix well.
Step 10
Remove from heat, garnish with parsley, and serve with more parmesan and pepper, if desired.
