A combination of two pie recipes that came from the same cookbook published in different years.
Name inspired by my toddler who had recently read the book "The Apple Pie That Papa Baked". We got her to switch from Papa to Mama but she never called it just "apple pie".

Step 1
Peel, core, and thinly slice apples

Mix together sugar, flour, and spices.

allspice⅛ tsp
cinnamon1 Tbsp
nutmeg⅛ tsp
Step 3
Add mixture to the sliced apples to coat.
Step 4
Place first pie crust into 9in pie pan. Then fill with apple mixture.
Step 5
Take second pie crust and cut into strips. Use strips to weave a lattice on top of the pie.
Step 6
Cube butter into small pieces and scatter across the top of the pie.
Step 7
Optional: sprinkle cinnamon sugar over top of pie lattice.
Step 8
Cover edges in foil. Bake in oven at 375° F for 25 minutes.
Step 9
Remove foil and bake for another 20-25 minutes or till crust is golden.
