(Healthy) Peach Struesel Pie
4 steps
Prep:10minCook:1h
This (healthier) Struesel Pie is so delicious and was definitely a hit in my household. If you are trying to slowly wean off sugar and not sure what dessert to make to satisfy and please that glorious sweet tooth of yours, this is the recipe for you. It is. Easy and delicious and only takes a few ingredients. What really gives this pie its flavor is the spices in it and the peaches themselves. For those who do not know Peaches, like most other fruits, contain a good amount of sugar within themselves making it unnecessary (most of the times😉) to add suagr, especially that no good refined suagr! This recipe makes 2 pies, feel free to 1/2 the recipe or double it to make it suitable for you!

Instructions
For the filling
Step 1
In a large sauce pan add your canned peaches, honey, and lemon juice. Allow to cook for 3 minutes. Add remainder of ingredients. Mix to combine and allow to cook uncovered on medium heat for 17 minutes stirring occasionally. You want to cook your peaches until the mixture is thickened and you can easily cut the peaches with a spoon.

Step 3
Preheat your oven to 375 degrees
Step 4
Precook your pie crusts according to the instructions. Once your pie crusts is prep cooked add in your filling until you have about 1/4 of room until the top. (Be sure to not overfill, especially because your streusel will add additional height). Sprinkle on your crumble and bake for 35 minutes.
