Step 1
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. prepare pastry.
Step 2
Mix sugar, flour, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt. Stir in apples.
Step 3
Turn into a pastry-lined pie plate. Dot with margarine.
Step 4
Cover with top crust that have slits cut in it; seal and flute.
Step 5
Cover edge with 3-inch strip of aluminum foil to prevent excessive browning, remove foil during last 15 minutes of baking.
Step 6
Bake until crust is brown and juice begins to bubble through slits in crust.
