Oyakodon, literally "parent-and-child donburi", is a Japanese rice bowl dish with rice, chicken and egg as the main ingredients. This recipe is a simpler adaptation of how restaurants prepare it but it is still nevertheless, delicious! 🥹

Instructions

Step 1
Marinate chicken overnight with teriyaki marinade or light soya sauce.
Step 2
Lightly beat 2 eggs, make sure you can still see bits of egg whites for better aesthetics!
Step 3
Mix sugar, light soya sauce, mirin and water in a small bowl.
Step 4
Heat oil in pan and cook chicken until golden brown.
Step 5
Add chopped onions and stir fry until onions turn translucent.
Step 6
Add the sauce.
Step 7
When the center of the pan starts bubbling, add the egg.
Step 8
Cook for a few minutes before garnishing with chopped green onions.
Step 9
Serve with the chicken and egg mixture with rice.
