Instructions

Step 1
Mix beaten egg, ground beef, bread crumbs, cinnamon, salt and allspice in a large bowl, until it’s throughly combined, cover and refrigerate for at least an hour or up to overnight.
Step 2
Remove the meat mixture and the sauce from the refrigerator, roll the meat mixture into balls about 1-inch thick (approximate 25 meatballs).
Step 3
Preheat a large skillet over medium heat, add the oil and, when it's shimmering, add the meatballs (do this in batches if necessary). Cook the meatballs until they're nicely browned and cooked through, about 10-12 minutes, st aside.
Step 4
In a wide saucepan, put 1 tbsp of oil and add the garlic and sauté until becomes aromatic, add the beef stock to the saucepan and bring it a boil, then Lower heat and poach gently for 15 minutes.
Step 5
Whisk to smooth the cornflour, 1 cup of water & add the flour mixture to the saucepan, stir it with a whisk until sauce thickens. (Add a little water to thin out the sauce), stir it on low heat for about 5 minutes.
Step 6
Add lemon juice to sauce and return meatballs to the sauce, adjust the seasoning and simmer 5 minutes before serving.
Step 7
Sprinkle some chopped dill or parsley then serve it along with cooked rice or mashed potatoes.
