Step 1
Soak peas over night in cold water. Cook peas till aldente about 30 minutes. Add coconut milk, scallions and thyme. Cook 10 more minutes. Wash rice and add to pot with butter and sugar. Stir repeatedly 5 minutes. Cover and simmer 15 minutes until done.
