Not soup with biscuits, more like something between pasta and biscuits, in thick gravy, with no vegetables, only chicken (and in my case, vegetarian chicken). This is as it was dictated.

Boil chicken broth (or veggie). Don't knead the dumplings, just kind of mix dry ingredients, then mix in shortening until crumbly. Add milk a little at a time until a smooth dough is formed. Roll out in flour or drop by spoonfuls. She would boil chicken on the bone, and use the stock from that as a base, and put the meat back in. I will be using vegan bouillon and plant based chicken. You simmer the dumplings for a while without stirring, until they kind of sink in a thick sauce, before you add the meat.
