For the Filling

Step 1
Melt the stick of butter and add the optional dry milk powder. By adding more milk solids to your butter, you get more brown butter flavor. Once the butter browns, take it off the heat.
Step 2
Chill pie dough in the freezer for 30 minutes and preheat the over to 400°F.
Step 3
Line the chilled crust with parchment paper and cover with dry pinto beans. Bake at 400°F for 15 minutes.
Step 4
Whisk the eggs together.
For the Filling
Step 5
In a bowl add corn syrup, sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg and mix well.
Step 6
Whisking continuously, add in the eggs, brown butter, and pecans.
Step 7
Filling goes into your pre-baked crust. Decorate it if you want, and put back in the oven at 350°F for about 35-40 minutes.
