G - 10-Min Rump Steak, Cheesy Gnocchi & Mushrooms

In just 10 minutes you'll have a fabulous steak dinner inspired by the cuisine of Northern Italy. After cooking the steaks, you'll fry the gnocchi in the same pan to soak up all of the delicious flavours, and cover with grated Italian hard cheese. Instructions

Step 1
Pat the rump steaks dry with kitchen roll and season with salt
Step 2
Heat a large, wide-based pan (preferably non-stick) with a drizzle of vegetable oil over a high heat and once very hot add the steaks
Step 3
For medium-rare, cook for 2-3 min on each side For medium, cook for 3-4 min on each side For rare, cook for 2 min max on each side
Step 4
Meanwhile, chop the mushrooms roughly
Step 5
Heat a separate large, wide-based pan (preferably non-stick) with a drizzle of vegetable oil over a high heat
Step 6
Once hot, add the chopped mushrooms with a pinch of salt and cook for 3-4 min or until starting to soften
Step 7
Once the steaks are done, transfer to a plate and set aside to rest
Step 8
Return the pan to a medium heat and add the gnocchi with a generous knob of butter and cook for 3-4 min or until starting to crisp
Step 9
Once the mushrooms have softened, add the balsamic vinegar and cook for 1-2 min further or until evaporated
Step 10
Add the grated Italian hard cheese to the gnocchi and gently stir it all together – this is your cheesy gnocchi
Step 11
Pour any resting juices into the balsamic mushrooms & spinach
Step 12
Serve the rested steak with the cheesy gnocchi and balsamic mushrooms & spinach to the side
Step 13
