Shrimp Cocktail Sauce
3 steps
Prep:5min
Do you know you most likely have all the ingredients for cocktail sauce in your kitchen and can make it in less than 5 minutes? The result will be so much better than buying a bottled sauce because you are using fresh ingredients and can change amounts to suit your own taste. This is a simple recipe I use for shrimp cocktail and as a ingredient to my famous (at least among my friends!) cream cheese shrimp dip with potato chips.
Making this recipe is a easy as collecting all the ingredients, measuring and mixing. You will be amazed at the flavor and wonder why you would ever need to buy bottled sauce again.
If you are planning a shrimp platter make sure to put the shrimp in a bowl and place it in another bowl filled with ice to keep the shrimp cold.
This cocktail sauce also is great with fried shrimp, fried clams and calamari.

Instructions
Step 1
Add all ingredients to a bowl and mix thoroughly, it is that easy.
Step 2
Taste to adjust as needed. This step is where you can make the cocktail sauce as spicy as you want. If it is too spicy, add more ketchup and lemon juice.
Step 3
Chill in the refrigerator for an hour before serving. Transfer to a serving bowl and plate with shrimp. You want a cold cocktail sauce for brightness to go with shrimp or other seafood.
