Classic Cinnamon Roll
9 steps
Prep:1hCook:15min
This is my family’s classic cinnamon roll recipe. Baking has always been a family affair: my grandma spent her childhood baking and helping in her family’s cafe. I hope your family will enjoy this recipe, too!

Instructions
Step 1
Proof yeast: mix water, yeast, and sugar. Cover, let sit for 5 minutes.
Step 2
Make dough: add flour, sugar, salt. Mix.
Step 3
Then add melted butter and yeast mixture (once rested).
Step 4
Knead together by hand, with hand mixer, or standing mixer. Knead 5-10 minutes to allow dough to come together. Add flour as needed, 1/4 c at a time. Dough should not be too sticky. It needs to easily form a ball.
Step 5
Roll out dough on floured surface (I like to work with only half the dough at a time). Cover entire surface with butter. Then sprinkle cinnamon over entire surface. Then sprinkle brown sugar over entire surface.
Step 6
Roll up dough tightly to make a log. Cut slices using a serrated knife or the floss method.
Step 7
Place rolls on baking sheet covered with parchment paper. Cover with clean towel and let rise 45 minutes.
Step 8
Preheat oven to 350F. Bake rolls 12-15 minutes until golden brown. Rotate tray halfway through bake time.
Step 9
Cover with frosting of your choice. Enjoy!
