Honey Hot Bourbon Wings

Delicious honey hot wings with a Southern twist - Bourbon, of course. You don't need to add the bourbon but it cleans the palate and adds a distinct aftertaste (and extra heat, which is never a bad thing).

Buttermilk Brine
1 cupsbuttermilk
½ cuppickle juice
¼ cuphot sauce
1 tspmustard powder
1 tsporegano
1 tspblack pepper
1 tsppaprika
1 tspcayenne chili powder
1 tspgarlic powder
Chicken
Dredge
1 ½ cupsAP flour
corn starch
1 tspsalt
1 tspblack pepper
1 tspcayenne powder
1 tsporegano
1 tsppaprika
1 tspmustard powder
Honey Hot Glaze
Garnish (optional)
Instructions
Step 1
1. Add everything for buttermilk brine to large mixing bowl and whisk.
Step 2
2. Add chicken and completely coat, cover, and refrigerate for at least 4 hours.
Step 3
3. Add ingredients for dredge in shallow baking dish and whisk together.
Step 4
4. Add chicken to dredge, coat completely.
Step 5
5. Fry in deep fryer set to 375F for 5-7 minutes or until golden brown.
Step 6
6. In a medium skillet, add everything for glaze and cook down until thickened on medium heat for about 5 minutes.
Step 7
7. Brush chicken with glaze, and enjoy with ranch and celery and carrots.
