Honey Lemon Ginger Tea

I’m a huge fan of lemon and ginger because of their powerful health benefits when paired together. Both ingredients have amazing antioxidant and immune-boosting effects and are great for treating nausea and indigestion, among other benefits. This flavor combination is my favorite by far—when I buy natural tea bags at the store, it’s always the first flavor I grab off the shelf. Of course, there’s nothing like homemade lemon ginger tea, and it’s super easy to whip together. The best part is that the lemon ginger mixture can be made into a version of ginger ale by serving it cold and topped with carbonated water. It can also be enjoyed cold instead of hot but without the fizz
Tip:
I love adding turmeric powder to lemon ginger tea for an additional health benefit. Turmeric is known for being a great anti-inflammatory agent and helps boost the immune system. More importantly, black pepper is needed to work in conjunction with the turmeric to provide true benefits.

Step 1
1. Bring the water, gingerroot, and lemon slices to a boil in a medium-size saucepan over high heat. Continue boiling for 3 to 4 minutes. Remove the pan from the heat and let steep, covered, for 8 to 10 minutes.

2. Once fully steeped, remove the gingerroot and lemon slices from the pan and whisk in the honey until fully dissolved and the tea is sweetened to your liking. Whisk in the turmeric powder and pepper, if desired. You can reheat the tea for another minute or so if you prefer to serve it really hot.
Step 3
3. To serve, pour the tea into two 8-ounce mugs and garnish with lemon slices, if desired.
