Instructions
Step 1
Put Dr Pepper in the water pan. DO NOT let it go dry or you’ll have burnt mess.
Step 2
Not for just smoked. Applewood, pecan and hickory are the best wood flavors for ham.
Step 3
The Dr Pepper will give it a nice caramel color and slightly sweet taste.
Step 4
Between 190 and 225 is where you want to smoke everything. Any less the wood won’t smoke. Any more and it over cooks and dries out.
Step 5
About 30 minutes per pound for uncooked. Half that for already cooked.
