Good Enough for Holidays Dutch Oven Ham

Easy and delicious. Adjust the size of the ham for your family, but a 3-4 pound ham fits well in my 5 quart dutch oven. If you choose a larger ham and it doesn't quite fit in your dutch oven, use aluminum foil to cover it (shiny side in) rather than the lid. If you don't have a dutch oven or your ham is still too big, you can use a roasting pan.

Instructions

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350F.
Step 2
Place ham in dutch oven, cut side down.
Step 3
In a medium bowl, combine pineapple with juice, brown sugar, and honey.
Step 4
Pour the pineapple mixture over the ham. Lift the ham edges just a bit to let the juice seep under the ham.
Step 5
Cover and cook for about 15-20 minutes per pound. You can check by removing from the oven and inserting an instant read thermometer to check for 145F near the center.
Step 6
Slice on a serving dish and pour some of the pineapple and sauce over the top. Serve the rest of the pineapple and juices on the side for pouring over ham slices or over sides like mashed potatoes.
Step 7
If you prefer, you can add a bit of cornstarch to the juices and cook while stirring till it's a consistency you like.
