It was 9:30 PM and Chef Brandon (@sad_papi) was craving a chicken pot pie. So he made pie dough. This generic pie dough can be made savory by adding porcini mushroom powder to the mix.

Instructions

Step 1
The secret to a good pie dough is to keep everything cold. Keep butter and water ice cold.
Step 2
Add flour and butter to a food processor. Add anything special, such as mushroom powder. Pulse until it's crumbly but still has a lot of lumps of butter, then add the water and pulse until it starts to hold its shape.
Step 3
Transfer to a mat and bring it together with your hands. You should still be able to see little flakes and spots of butter all over it. Divide it in half, wrap in plastic wrap, and chill in fridge at least 10 minutes if you plan on rolling it out right away.
