Instructions
For the dough
Step 1
Mix together the flour, butter, salt and water
Step 2
Refrigerate the dough for 2 hours
Step 3
Roll out the dough in a 40 x 20cm rectangle

Put the butter (20 x 20 cm square) in the top of the rectangle
Step 5
Fold the dough, turn it and roll it out in a 60 x 20cm rectangle

Fold the dough in three
Step 7
Refrigerate for 2 hours
Step 8
Repeat these three last steps twice

Once the dough it’s ready, roll out the dough and cut two circles of 23cm
For the frangipane
Step 10
Mix together the butter, powdered sugar and egg
Step 11
Add the almond powder
For the galette des rois
Step 12
Place one of the circles on a baking pan lined with parchment paper

Spread the frangipane in the middle and put the fève
Step 14
Put the other dough on top and press the edges
Step 15
Careful decorate with a knife
Step 16
Refrigerate the galette des rois for 30 minutes
Step 17
Preheat oven at 250°C
Step 18
Spread some egg wash on top of the galette
Step 19
Bake at 200°C for 40 minutes
