Instructions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 350°. Butter and flour an 8-by-8 inch baking pan, set aside.
Step 2
In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, oats, cinnamon and salt and mix until combined.
Step 3
Melt the ½ cup of butter and add it, along with the vanilla, to the oat mixture. Stir until moistened.
Step 4
Fold in the cherries and then gently stir in the chocolate chips.
Step 5
Press batter into prepared pan. Melt remaining butter and drizzle it over the bars.
Step 6
Bake for 20 minutes, then let cool completely before cutting. Store in refrigerator or at a cool room temperature in a sealed container.
