Instructions
Step 1
Preheat oven to 250 degrees. If you have dual ovens it makes the baking process easier.
Step 2
In medium glass or plastic bowl add butter and microwave on high for 1 minute. Repeat until butter is completely melted.
Microwave Bowl
Step 3
Add the remaining Wet Mixture ingredients to the melted butter and stir until everything is blended thoroughly. Set aside.
Step 4
Use (2) XL disposable aluminum roasting pans (approx. 20” x 12”) to combine all Dry Mixture ingredients. Use your hands to evenly mix the ingredients thoroughly. *A large paper sack, cardboard box or plastic storage tub can also be used for easier mixing. Transfer 1/2 half of mixture to each of the (2) aluminum roasting pans once mixed.
Step 5
Drizzle Wet Mixture over Dry Mixture in pans. Use 1/3 of the Wet Mixture at a time, stirring each pan with a large spoon to evenly coat the Dry Mixture. Repeat until all the Wet Mixture is used and stirring until all the Dry Mixture in both pans are proportionately coated.
Step 6
If using a single oven, stager the pans on two different racks in the middle of the oven and rotate the placement each time you remove to stir. For double ovens, place each pan in the middle of each oven. Bake 2-3 hours, stirring every 30-45 minutes until all the pieces of the mix are well roasted and has lost most of its moisture.
Step 7
Remove from oven and let stand in pans (or transfer to paper sacks for faster cooling) until cool. Store in airtight containers.
