Instructions

Step 1
In a large bowl mix all ingredients for the dough. Knead for 8-10 minutes until you have a smooth dough.
Step 2
Cover the dough and let it rise in a warm spot for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
Step 3
Degas the dough, then divide into 8-12 pieces. To shape the balls and create tension, fold the sides to the middle and tear it over an unfloured surface.
Step 4
Place the balls in a baking dish, cover with a kitchen towel and let them proof for 30-45 minutes.
Step 5
Preheat the oven to 200°C.
Step 6
Combine flour and water for the crossing paste. Transfer to a piping bag and pipe crosses on the buns.
Step 7
Bake for 25-30 minutes until deep golden brown. Brush with maple syrup or apricot jam and enjoy!
