For the Fried Chicken
6boneless chicken thighs
1 cupbuttermilk
2 tablespoonshot sauce
1 tablespoongarlic powder
1 tablespoononion powder
2 teaspoonspepper
2 teaspoonsalt
1 tablespoonpaprika
bamma chicken fry
For the Biscuits
Biscuit Mix
½ cupshortening
1 cupbuttermilk
0.5jalapeño
deseeded and finely chopped
⅓ cupsharp cheddar cheese
For the Hot Honey
Instructions
To Make the Fried Chicken
Step 1
1. Add chicken thighs to a bowl and cover with buttermilk. Add hot sauce and seasonings and marinate to at least two hours.
Step 2
2. In another bowl, add chicken fry. Dredge marinated chicken into the chicken fry until fully coated. Place on a wire rack for a few minutes while oil heats up.
Step 3
3. Deep fry chicken thighs in 350 oil until golden brown.
To Make the Jalapeño and Cheddar Biscuits
Step 4
1. Add biscuit mix to a bowl. Make a well into the biscuit mix and add shortening. Using a fork or pastry blender, blend the shortening into the mix. Add buttermilk and mix well until a dough forms. Add jalapeños and cheese and knead a few times. Using a rolling pin, roll out the dough and cut biscuits using a biscuit cutter.
Step 5
2. Add biscuits to a baking tray, brush with buttermilk and top with a slice of jalapeño.
Step 6
3. Bake on 450 until golden brown.
To Make the Hot Honey
Step 7
Add all ingredients to a small saucepan and simmer for 5-7 minutes.
Step 8
Add chicken to the biscuit and drizzle with hot honey.
