Ingredients

1 poundbutter
at room temperature
1 cupgranulated sugar
1 ½ cupspowdered sugar
1 tablespoonvanilla
4 cupsall purpose flour

Step 1
Preheat oven to 325 degrees
Step 2
Grease 9x13 pan or line with parchment paper.
Step 3
Set aside.
Step 4
Cream butter and sugars together on medium speed.
Step 5
Press half the dough into the bottom of pan, and then wrap the remaining half in plastic wrap and refrigerate.
Step 6
Bake for 25 minutes or until edges are golden.
Step 7
While baking, mix caramel, sea salt, and tablespoons of flour until smooth.
Step 8
Remove the pan from the oven and spread topping over the top.
Step 9
Crumble remaining dough into bits and sprinkle onto caramel.
Step 10
Return pan to oven for an additional 25 minutes.
Step 11
Cool completely.
Step 12
Cut into small squares.
