Ingredients

1 tablespoonolive oil

diced
1 lbground beef
2 canscrushed tomatoes
3cloves garlic

3 tablespoonssugar
1 boxlasagna noodles
32 ozricotta cheese
¼ cupfresh parsley
chopped
2 blocksmozzarella cheese
sliced thin
1 cupshredded parmesan cheese
salt

Instructions
Step 1
In a large sauce pan add your oil and diced onion. Sauté for 3-5 minutes until onions are translucent. Add in ground beef and minced garlic and cook until beef begins to golden brown. Season with salt and pepper.
Step 2
Pour in 2 cans of crushed tomatoes and sprinkle in 2 tablespoons sugar.
Step 3
Cover and let simmer for 25-30 minutes.
Step 4
Once sauce has reduced slightly, sprinkle in 1 tablespoon fresh chopped parsley, optional red pepper flakes and more salt and pepper if needed. Cook for another 5 minutes than take off the heat.

Preheat oven to 400F.
Step 6
In a bowl- mix together ricotta cheese, remaining sugar and remaining fresh parsley.
Step 7
Using a 9x13 tin or baking dish, ladle in a spoonful of sauce. Then arrange lasagna noodles long ways across bottom of pan. Spread on a layer of ricotta mixture followed by slices of mozzarella cheese to cover the layer. Spoon on more sauce and repeat the steps for 3-4 more layers, alternating the lasagna noddles direction. (Sauce, lasagna noodles, ricotta, mozzarella, more sauce)
Step 8
On the top layer sprinkle with shredded parmesan cheese and more mozzarella. Make sure there's enough sauce along the sides so the noodles don't burn.
Step 9
Spray foil with oil and cover. Place baking sheet on a cookie tray and bake for 35 minutes.
Step 10
Take off foil and place bake in the oven for another 25-30 minutes until cheese is golden brown and bubbly.
Step 11
Remove from oven and let rest for at least 15 minutes. (This is important to make sure all the layers stay together)
Step 12
Slice into squares, top with more ricotta and parmesan if you'd like and enjoy!
