Step 1
Grease 2 nine inch cake pans or 3 8 inch cake pans. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Beat butter and sugar till light and fluffy. Add extract and sour cream, mix till just combined. Use fork to combine egg whites and milk. Set aside. Mix dry ingredients. Add 1/3 dry to butter mixture till just combined. Add half of milk mixture add in 1/3 dry until combined, followed by remainder of milk mixture. Add in remainder of dry, and mix with hand mixture until just combined. Scape down sides with spatula. Divide evenly in pans. Bake at 350 for 25 to 30 minutes. Cool in pans 5 minutes. Takw out of pan and cool completely before frosting.
