Raven's Low Carb/Keto Pizza Bowls
3 steps
Prep:30minCook:20min
Tired of trying to duplicate pizza crust, only to end up feeling dissatisfied? You can order pizza bowls or crustless pizza delivered for about $15.00 with 3-4 items and a doubtful pizza sauce which probably contains sugar. Instead, make your own in about the time it takes to have it delivered. Easily keep the items on hand at home, make it with almost zero carbs and make enough for yourself and the rest of your family too.
This recipe is easily altered to taste for the pickiest of eaters or anyone who loves everything on their pizza from crab meat to hot peppers.

Instructions
Step 1
Pizza sauce: Saute about 2 tbsp. dried onion or finely chopped fresh onion on low in enough butter to fully cover the bottom of your skillet. When fresh onion is translucent or dried onion is buttery, turn the heat down slightly and add 2-3 tbsp butter, 1 tbsp of olive oil, and the garlic. Let simmer just until the butter is melted, then add the can of tomatoes.
Stir tomatoes in, then add 1 large can of tomato paste with salt, pepper, and italian seasoning to taste. Blend well, then let simmer for about 10 -15 minutes, adding water if needed to keep from getting too thick.
This sauce should make enough for about 4-5 pizza bowls, depending on how much you use and how big yours are. This makes about 5 for me but may only make 4 if you're new to keto or a hungry man.
Store leftover sauce in a tightly covered container in the refrigerator for up to 7 days. You may also freeze individual servings in freezer bags.
Step 2
Spread a good amount of sauce in a glass baking dish if you have one. I prefer glass as it's easy to clean, goes from oven to microwave easily for leftovers, and is easy to find these at your closest big box store, complete with a cover for storing leftovers. I didn't spray mine and found it cleaned up easily, but your choice. Add your pepperoni, all of the cheeses, bacon, and mix together, adding more sauce if needed. There should be plenty of sauce as it really makes the base for this bowl, mixed with the other ingredients. After mixing together, add more cheese on top, whichever are your favorites. I added them all again and it made an excellent flavor on top.
Step 3
Cover your dish with aluminum foil, or if you have another oven-safe cover, use it. Bake at 350 degrees for about 20 minutes. You may want to check for doneness at about 15 minutes as oven temperatures may vary by altitude. The pizza bowl is done when cheese is all melted and just starting to have a few golden brown spots.
