Step 1
Pre heat the oven up to 180°C.
Step 2
Evenly spread butter on bottom of a cold heavy based pan and the cover with the sugar

Peel the apples and rub with lemon. Cut in half and remove the core.
Step 4
Arrange the apples in your buttered and sugared pan.

Save the apple scraps for my homemade apple cider vinegar!

Cut puff pastry to size of the pan, place on top of apples and tuck round the sides Make small hole in centre of the pastry to let the steam escape

Step 7
Place on the stove and cook gently until caramel around the side start to go a light brown. Place in a hot oven set to180°C and allow 60-70minutes for the pastry to cook properly.
Step 8
Serve with loads of clotted cream
