Holy moly this was delicious.
Changes: first off, instead of using phylo dough, I used two sheets of puff pastry from the grocery store. Store. I rolled them out together and thinner. I used regular Bosc pears, the same amount of sugar and the same amount of butter. Instead of making my own caramel sauce (because I'm terrified of doing so honestly), I bought the Smuckers store bought kind in a jar. I grated some sea salt into it, and put it in the microwave for about 20 seconds. Then I brushed it over the top after the tart was cooked as directed. Cook times were the same.
It came out PERFECTLY!!!!! My entire family devoured it. My husband's favorite flavor is pear and so I was really hoping this would be a hit. I served it with vanilla ice cream drizzled with a little bit of the caramel sauce. 100% will make again.
