The website for getting the instructions was awful, constant ads blocking the text. I took a screenshot and thought I would add here for future use.
1. Heat large skillet over medium high heat. Add butter and olive oil until butter sizzles.
2.Add the sliced smoked sausage and onion. Cook 5 min until onion is tender and sausage begins to brown.
2.5 I added 1 teaspoon of minced garlic and made fragrant for about a min. This was not in the recipe but standard practice for me.
3.add the red bell pepper and broccoli. Cover, reduce heat and cook for 5 min.
4.add the cooked rice, garlic powder and onion salt. Combine well, cover and heat until cooked rice is hot. (I also added 1/8 teaspoon red pepper flakes).
5. Add the shredded cheese and remove from heat. Stir in cheese until its melted.
