Amazing, amazing flavours and texture. Doubled the recipe for a 27cm springform cake tin.
Made this a day ahead and refrigerated, then removed the cake & added the cream topping 2h ahead of serving at a friend's & family meal. It went down a treat, served with vanilla ice cream. Served for 15 people and there was just under 1/2 cake left.
I added a good pinch of salt and 2-3 tbsp of Kahlua which definitely elevated it. Also halved the sugar in the cream as the cake sounded sweet enough, and it was perfect.
Kept this in the fridge for 4 days. The flavour still improved with time and the cream still held its shape. Next time I'll make the cake 2 days ahead and add the cream 12hrs ahead of serving.
Definitely a go-to for special occasions going forward.
