To preface: The following isn't necessarily negative, just a thing that happened:
Idk where I went wrong, but the cookies did not spread at all. I smushed them down with a spatula after baking (hence the cracks), but the dough was very dry to begin with. I had absolutely no problem with it being too sticky to roll into balls, but rather them falling apart.
Nevertheless: they taste amazing! I added some flakey sea salt to some of them after baking and pressing down, a worthy addition. I'll make them again at some point and see if the non-spreading will continue :)
