Lovely recipe, made it for my Czech side of the family who eat these at Christmas and call them Vanilkové rohlíčky, they're definitely authentic! I used macadamia nuts, they're my favourite nut and keep the dough nice and light coloured. I didn't use the egg, didn't need it and as the recipe notes it's more traditional to omit them.
Mine only needed 10 minutes in the oven, definitely depends on the size of your cookies. I found it pretty easy to shape them, by rolling out long skinny sausages then cutting them into pieces a few centimetres long each. They're so nice and light textured, like a vanilla shortbread.
