If you prefer a crispier tater tot I suggest switching to crispy crowns from Ore Ida, cook them as directed in an air fryer while making the meat mixture so they are around 75% cooked before putting them on top and in the oven. Reduce cook time in the oven by half including melting the cheese on top. Amazing!
