I’m still mourning onion since I learned it was making me sick, but this made it a little easier to cope with the loss. This rub wasn’t bad at all!
I followed the recipe exactly and didn’t miss the onion and garlic powder. I used it on country ribs that I cut from a pork loin, which I rubbed before coating in BBQ sauce and grilling.
My partner with no dietary restrictions loved it too, as did my 8yr old daughter, but she likes spicy food. Don’t add cayenne for a milder rub, if you or your kids are sensitive to heat or just prefer that. There’s still a little heat from the chipotle chili powder.
