This was absolutely delicious! I did change things, but shouldn't make much of a difference to the health factor.
-I used half lean ground beef and half ground venison to make it even less fat and much healthier. It can be done with ground turkey as well instead of the venison. But let me tell you this, if you make it correctly you cannot taste the venison. -I also added frozen peas, green beans and corn.
-Instead of fresh thyme, I used dry thyme & a pinch of rosemary.
-I used red potatoes and left the skins on since most of the healthy vitamins and minerals are in the skins.
After cutting the potatoes I boiled both them and the cauliflower, making this much more efficient. This is a go to now in my house. Lastly, I fried up a bit of the onion and minced garlic before adding the meat.
My wife even complimented me saying this tastes alot like the real thing.
