I cannot wait to make this!!! There was a dessert I was going to make, like, a year ago, that needed sumac. And then our daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes and my husband with Type 2, so it didn't happen. And the sumac has been sitting there, smelling good, all this time. Off to cut a red onion!!
Later: Made! I discovered that other than a few drops of lemon juice, this is dry. I can enjoy dry lettuce and often pick it out of salads before they're dressed. But the powdered sumac made this not work too well. So I added a teensy bit of both olive oil and balsamic vinegar, just enough to dampen the sumac.
