This take on butter chicken is so delicious and elevates the dish so well. If you're a pasta lover and you love butter chicken, you must try this. This recipe went viral on Tiktok when I posted it about a year ago and for good reason. A must try and a definite addition to your weekly meal rotations!

Ingredients

Chicken marinade:
2chicken breasts
cut into cubes
½ cupplain yogurt
1 ½ tablespoonsminced garlic
1 tablespoonfresh ginger
minced
2 teaspoonsgaram masala
1 teaspoonturmeric
1 teaspoonground cumin
1 teaspoonred chili powder
1 teaspoonsalt
1 tablespoonlemon juice
Sauce:
2 tablespoonscooking oil
ghee preferred

1 ½ tablespoonsgarlic
minced
1 tablespoonginger
minced
1 teaspoonsground cumin
1 teaspoonsgaram masala
1 teaspoonground coriander
3 oztomato paste
1 teaspoonred chili powder
1 ¼ teaspoonssalt
1 cupheavy whipping cream
1 tablespoonsugar
1 cuppasta water

Instructions
Step 1
Mix the chicken with all ingredients under chicken marinade and allow it to marinate for 1 hour or up to overnight in the fridge. If you're impatient, just have it sit in the marinade while you prepare the onions and other ingredients for the sauce and cook immediately.

Step 2
Sear the chicken in ghee or cooking oil of choice to get golden brown edges and remove from your pan.

In that same pan, add your onions and saute them for a few minutes until translucent. Then add the remaining sauce ingredients.

Step 4
While preparing the sauce, have your pasta cooking on the side. Take one cup of the pasta water and add it to the sauce.

Add the chicken back into the sauce and allow it to simmer for 10 minutes.
Step 6
Strain the pasta when it is cooked and add it in with the sauce (if it fits in the same pan that's great otherwise transfer the pasta and sauce to a larger serving dish).

Mix well and garnish with some heavy cream, chili flakes and cilantro.
