Instructions
Step 1
In a big pot on medium heat, add olive oil, ground beef, and onions. Cook until ground beef is browned and onions are translucent. If you're adding additional veggies, dice those up and add into this step.
Step 2
Add in your dried seasonings (parsley, basil, and oregano) and stir in with the veggie and beef mixture. Cook for about 30 seconds to 1 minute, until fragrant. (This is called 'blooming' your seasonings)
Step 3
Add in the rest of the ingredients except the rice and bring to a boil. Once you have a good rolling boil, add in your rice and give it a good stir. Then cover with a lid and remove from the heat. Leave for about 10 minutes (I've found this is the best way to cook the rice)
