Step 1
Fry beef. Set aside.
Step 2
Chop onion and sweat onions in beef fat if you are that patient.
Step 3
If using dry beans, and using stovetop or slow cooker, refrigerate meat while putting all but meat and tomatoes in cooker. Add 3-4 cups of water per cup of dry beans. Cook until done. If using pressure cooker, cook beans with spices, and dried onions, but I'd not pressure cook the fresh onions. Pressure for 35 minutes. Check beans are done. If not, add 1Tbsp of baking soda to decrease the acidity of the beans and pressure cook another 5 minutes. Then add meat, onions, and tomatoes.
