Instructions
Step 1
1. Add milk and vanilla to a pan and bring to a simmer.
Step 2
2. Whisk the egg yolks and sugar in a bowl until fluffy.
Step 3
3. Add flour and cornstarch and mix.
Step 4
4. Pour half the hot milk and whisk thoroughly.
Step 5
5. Pour the mixture back into to the pan with the rest of the milk.
Step 6
6. Whisk constantly on med-high heat until very thick.
Step 7
7. Remove from heat at add butter and whisk.
Step 8
8. Through a sieve add to a bowl or spread on a baking tray lined with plastic wrap.
Step 9
9. Refrigerate until fully cooled.
Step 10
10. Mix to smooth and enjoy with your pastries.
