Instructions

Step 1
Preheat oven to 350°F
Step 2
To a mixing bowl add the lemon cake mix, melted butter, eggs and 2 tablespoons lemon juice or 1 teaspoon lemon extract. Mix with an electric mixer, the batter will be thick.
Step 3
Spray a 9x9 baking dish with nonstick spray. Pour the batter into the baking dish and press it evenly.
Step 4
Bake 20-25 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Step 5
Meanwhile prepare the glaze. In a mixing bowl whisk together the powdered sugar, lemon zest and 2 tablespoons lemon juice or 1 teaspoon lemon extract. If the glaze is too thick add 1-2 tablespoons of milk, a little at a time, to thin it.
Step 6
Let the bars cool and pour the glaze evenly over top. Let the glaze set 20 minutes and cut into squares.
