Delicious Italian Lasagna! My tried and true recipe that took many times to get it just right through trial and error. My family loves it and so do I! Make it your own by tweaking it to your taste buds.

Step 1
boil lasagna noodles in heavily salted water unless you purchased the oven ready noodles. If you got oven ready, you have to add 1/2 cup of milk to your cheese mixture. It will appear soupy, but the noodles will soak it all up, so don't worry. Brown hamburger meat and sausage together in large pan. When meat is brown add onion and mushrooms and cook till onions are translucent. Then add tomatoes and tomato sauce, italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt/pepper and simmer 30 mins. Stir in parmesan cheese. In a large bowl mix together ricotta cheese, cup of milk,1/2 of (1/4 cup) parsley, 2 egg yolks, and 2 tblsp of romano cheese. Now add one ladel of meat sauce to this mixture and stir to combine. Don't forget to also add another 1/2 cup of milk if you got oven ready noodles. In large tin or glass pan, ladel sauce to cover the bottom lightly. Add noodles, cover with cheese mixture,then sprinkle with mozzarella cheese, add more sauce, then the pecorina romano cheese, more noodles and keep layering. Last layer after cheese, sprinkle 1/4 cup of parsley over the top. Bake 350 covered 45 mins and remove cover and bake 15 more mins. Make sure to place a big pan under the lasagna in the oven for spillage on a different rack. After you plate the lasagna, sprinkle finely grated parmesan cheese on top! Serve and enjoy!
