Instructions

Step 1
Combine all the dry ingredients in a bowl.
Step 2
Add all the wet ingredients except for olive oil.
Step 3
Knead for 4-5 minutes until the dough becomes smooth and slightly sticky.

Cover with plastic wrap and let it rest for about 40 minutes until it rises and doubles in size.

Heat a pan over medium heat.
Step 6
Divide the dough into 6 equal-sized pieces.
Step 7
On a lightly oiled surface, shape each piece into a circle, about 20 cm in diameter.
Step 8
Cook the pita bread for 1-2 minutes on each side in the pan until they puff up slightly.
Step 9
Serve with chicken or pork gyro, sausages, or vegetables.
